- GARDEN ELECTRICAL NOTTINGHAM
Garden Electrical Services in Beeston, Nottingham and Surrounding Areas
Lighting, power, and outdoor electrics -designed around your garden and installed to last.
- DESIGNED FROM THE START
Garden Electrical Installations - Planned Properly
Garden electrical services in Nottingham are best planned before landscaping begins, not added afterwards. Ideally, we work from your landscaper’s layout plans to map out lighting positions, cable routes and power points before groundwork starts.
Where a landscaper is involved, we can provide marked-up plans so conduits, recessed light housings and power points are built into the project from the start.
For garden rooms, home offices, bars and larger outbuilding supplies, see our Garden Rooms & Outhouses page.
When Should You Involve an Electrician?
- Before paving is laid
- Before retaining walls are built
- Before planting beds are finished
- Before water features are installed
If you don’t have a landscaper, we can advise on what groundwork and preparation is needed before the electrical installation begins.
- GARDEN LIGHTING
Garden Lighting Installation & Design
Garden lighting transforms an outdoor space, but the range of options can be overwhelming. We’ll help you choose the right combination for your garden, your budget and the effect you’re looking for, so the final setup feels practical, balanced and properly planned.
- Garden lighting combinations planned around your space
- Practical lighting for steps, paths and seating areas
- Feature lighting to create the right visual effect
- Options chosen around your budget
- Clear guidance if the lighting choices feel overwhelming
Lighting is planned around the overall layout to create the right balance between feature lighting, practical use and long-term reliability.
For more help choosing the right setup, view our Garden Lighting Design Guide.
- POWER & WATER FEATURES
Outdoor Power & Electrical Supplies
Outdoor spaces often require more than just lighting. Power supplies should be planned as part of the overall layout to ensure safe, reliable, and practical long-term use.
We install outdoor power supplies – ideally as dedicated supplies where appropriate – for:
- Outdoor sockets
- Pergolas and covered seating areas
- Patio heaters and outdoor entertainment areas
- Garden offices and outdoor buildings
- Water features and pond equipment
If you or your landscaper are supplying powered equipment or accessories, they may need to meet UK suitability requirements. For more details, view our Customer Supplied Materials guide.
- LIGHTING CONTROL
Controlling Your Garden Lighting
A well-designed garden lighting scheme in Nottingham should be easy to control — with the flexibility to switch different areas independently depending on how you’re using the space.
We can provide input and guidance on a recommended zoning layout for your garden, allowing different sections to be switched independently. This gives you full control over which areas are lit and when.
Where running new switch cables back into the property would mean disrupting internal walls or decoration, we use kinetic (wireless) switches — no batteries, no wiring, and no damage to your home.

- COMMON QUESTIONS
Garden & Landscape Electrical — Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to involve my landscaper in the electrical planning?
Ideally, yes. Planning electrical works alongside landscaping helps ensure cable routes, conduit runs and fittings are installed before paving, decking, planting or turfing is completed.
Early coordination usually results in a cleaner finish and avoids unnecessary disruption later.
Can garden electrics be added to an existing installation?
Yes, in many cases garden electrics can be supplied from an existing circuit where suitable.
For larger installations, or where future expansion is likely, a dedicated outdoor circuit is often the better long-term solution.
Can you install garden lighting and outdoor power together?
Yes. Many projects include a combination of lighting, outdoor sockets, switching systems and supplies for garden features or seating areas.
Planning everything together from the start usually provides the best overall result.
Will cables be visible in the garden?
We always aim for a neat and unobtrusive installation.
Where possible, cables are concealed within landscaping features, underground ducting or planned cable routes agreed before landscaping is completed.
Some visible containment may still be required in certain locations, but this is discussed during planning.
Can I control different areas of the garden separately?
Yes. Lighting can be arranged into separate zones and switching groups depending on how the space will be used.
We also install kinetic wireless switching systems where suitable.
Can more lighting or power be added later?
Where possible, installations are planned with future expansion in mind. This may include spare capacity within the circuit design, additional ducting routes or suitable cable sizing for future additions.
Do garden electrical works require certification?
Yes. All applicable electrical work is tested, certified and completed in accordance with BS 7671. Where required, Building Control notification is also provided.
